Aura Visualizer · Last updated June 2026
Aura Visualizer is private by design. Your face is processed entirely on your device. The app never uploads, transmits, collects, or shares your data — the only data that ever leaves your device is a finished visualization that you choose to share yourself.
The short version: the app has no network access. There are no accounts, no ads, and no trackers. Nothing you capture leaves your phone unless you deliberately export and share a finished visualization.
Aura Visualizer uses your device’s front camera to capture a few seconds of your face’s motion and turns it into a visual “aura.” The app captures and makes that subtle motion visible — it does not interpret, diagnose, or draw conclusions about you, your mood, or your health.
We do not collect any information. Aura Visualizer contains no networking code and no network entitlement, so no data — personal or otherwise — is transmitted off your device to us or to any third party.
This section explains, in full, the app’s collection, use, disclosure, sharing, and retention of face data.
When you capture a reading, Aura Visualizer uses Apple’s ARKit face tracking (via the device’s front-facing TrueDepth camera) to record a short sequence — approximately three seconds — of facial-motion data. This consists of ARKit blend-shape coefficients (numeric values describing expression movement, such as a brow raise or jaw opening) and eye-movement values. The app does not collect, store, or process photographs, video, depth images, face-geometry meshes used for identification, or any biometric identifier. The recorded values describe motion only; they cannot identify you or reconstruct a recognizable image of your face.
Face data is used for exactly one purpose: rendering your visualizations on your device. The recorded motion values drive the app’s on-device 3D animations, which you can replay, restyle, compare, and optionally save. Face data is never used for identification, authentication, emotion or health analysis, profiling, advertising, or any other purpose, and it is never used to train any model. No additional uses are planned.
The app never shares face data with anyone, including the developer. The app has no network capability and is technically incapable of transmitting any data off your device on its own. There are no third-party SDKs, analytics, or advertising frameworks in the app. The developer never receives your face data or any other data.
All face data and saved visualizations are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage, using Apple’s on-device data frameworks. The developer operates no servers for this app and never receives or holds your data. Data stored by the app may be included in your own device backup (for example iCloud or encrypted local backup) under your control and Apple’s terms, exactly as with other apps on your device; the developer has no access to those backups.
Face data is retained on your device until you delete it. An unsaved capture is discarded when you leave it; a saved reading remains on your device until you delete it in the app, and deleting the app removes all data it holds. Because the developer never receives your face data, the developer retains nothing.
The only way anything leaves your device is if you choose to export a finished visualization and share it using your device’s standard share sheet — for example to Messages, to your computer, or to a third-party app or service such as a social network. This is always an action you start and control. What is shared is the rendered visualization file, not the raw recorded face-motion data. Once you send a visualization to another person, app, or service, it is handled by that recipient under their terms, not ours.
Visualizations (“readings”) you choose to save are stored locally on your device. You can delete them at any time. Because nothing is stored on our servers — we operate none for this app — deleting the app removes the data it holds.
If you choose to share a visualization, you do so through your device’s standard share sheet, selecting the recipient, app, or service yourself — including third-party services such as social networks, if you choose. A shared file may include a link to the App Store so others can find Aura Visualizer. Once you share something, it is handled by whichever service or person you send it to, under their terms — not ours. Please review the privacy policy of any third-party service you share to.
Aura Visualizer does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect in a new version of the app.
