Getting Started

Hummingbird Moments opens to a beautiful hummingbird photo with an inspirational quote. Here's how to use it:

Browse photos — Swipe left or right, or tap anywhere to advance.
Save favorites — Tap the heart icon at the top center to favorite a photo.
Navigate favorites — Use the left/right arrows next to "Favorites" to jump between your saved photos.
Generate new quotes — Tap the sparkle icon to create a new AI-generated inspirational quote (requires Apple Intelligence).
Settings — Tap the gear icon to access Watch settings and the setup guide.

Apple Watch

Hummingbird Moments includes a companion Apple Watch app that displays your photos and quotes on your wrist.

Installing the Watch App

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
Scroll to the bottom of My Watch and tap Install next to Hummingbird Moments.
Wait for the installation to complete (a progress circle appears on the app icon).
Tap the Hummingbird Moments icon on your Apple Watch to launch it.
Favorites and quotes sync automatically once both apps are running.

Watch Viewing Modes

In Settings on the iPhone app, you can toggle "Watch shows favorites only". When enabled, the Watch app will only cycle through your favorited photos instead of all 125.

Apple Intelligence Quotes

If your device supports Apple Intelligence, you can tap the sparkle icon to generate a fresh Moment of reflection for the current photo. The quote is created entirely on your device — nothing is sent to any server.

On older devices that do not support Apple Intelligence, the sparkle icon will not appear. The app still works fully — you can browse all 125 photos with their built-in inspirational quotes, save favorites, and use the Apple Watch companion. The only difference is that dynamic AI-generated quotes are not available on pre-Apple Intelligence hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many photos are included?

Hummingbird Moments includes 125 original hummingbird photographs, each paired with a unique inspirational quote.

Does the app require an internet connection?

No. Everything works offline. All photos, quotes, and AI quote generation happen on your device.

Is my data private?

Yes. The app collects no personal data and sends nothing to any server. Your favorites and settings are stored only on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Why isn't the Watch app syncing?

Make sure both the iPhone and Watch apps are open and running. The Watch must be within Bluetooth range of your iPhone. Check Settings in the iPhone app for connectivity status.

The sparkle icon doesn't appear. Why?

The AI quote feature requires Apple Intelligence, which is only available on newer devices. On older hardware, the app runs without this feature — all 125 photos and their built-in quotes are still fully available. If you have a supported device, make sure Apple Intelligence is enabled in your device's Settings.

How do I clear all my favorites?

Open Settings (gear icon) and tap "Clear All Favorites" at the bottom of the settings screen.
